Unsettled


She was usually sad, but today the depression seemed overwhelming as she listlessly meandered by. Her face was unexpressive with vacant eyes. I turned toward where she stood overlooking the river, as the mist from the falls appeared to envelope around her. Could I have stopped her? I’ll never know
